I understand increasing the duty cycle in buck converters increases the output voltage. But what does varying the switching frequency do? |

Everything else the same (which is hard to do as frequency increases, as exemple, capacitance of capacitors decreases), increasing the frequency decrease the ripples. Or, if you prefer, at a higher frequency, you may need a lesser inductance. But you cannot increases frequency as you wish, due to many, many, limitations. |
