Hello! And thanks for looking in my question :) I bought one of these lamps. I spent a bunch of time using a glue-gun to stick extra flower petals and branches to it. Now it looks like this, and now... I'm more than a little invested in making the circuitry do what I want. After only a brief test of the behaviour before I started my glue project, I thought that if I removed power while it was switched on, it would automatically return to the same switch state after mains power was disconnected. But then, I discovered after adding a smart plug between it and the wall outlet, it doesn't actually remember the power mode when power is completely disconnected (for more than a couple of minutes). This makes me very sad |

I was hoping to have it turn on in the morning, and off late at night, via the smart plug. It does have a battery compartment, but I would prefer not to use any batteries for this device. With it running most of the day, I will go through too many cells. The touch switch on the base has three modes: off → all LEDs on → 50% LEDs on in flashing sequence. Is there anything I can adjust or re-solder on the board in order to bypass the switch function and always have it running when power is connected? Here is a photo of the internals of the base. If the lamp uses a capacitive touch switch with a small controller, it likely resets to its default OFF state whenever power is completely removed, so there may not be a simple wire you can bridge to make it remember the previous state. A practical approach is to identify the touch control board and either replace it with a latching on/off switch module or bypass the controller only if the LED driver supports direct power safely. Before modifying anything, check the circuit with a multimeter and ensure the power supply is disconnected, as incorrect bypassing could damage the lamp or create a safety risk. It's a bit like a Visitor parking registration https://register2park.org/ system that resets after a restart unless it has non-volatile memory to save the previous status. |

I can understand the disappointment after putting so much effort into customizing the lamp and expecting the electronics to work a certain way. It is always frustrating when a creative project runs into an unexpected technical limitation. Like the unpredictable moments in Basket Random, small changes can completely alter the outcome, but solving these challenges can also make the final result more rewarding. |

A 0.4 V signal is usually too weak to drive a 5 V relay directly. You'll likely need a small interface circuit, such as a transistor or MOSFET stage (or an optocoupler if isolation is important), powered by a separate 5 V supply. That circuit can detect the low-voltage pulse and switch the relay safely. If you can measure whether the 0.4 V signal is just a brief pulse or stays high during the chime, it will be much easier to recommend the right components. scary games |

Wow, this post is super interesting! I’m really curious—after bypassing the touch switch, have you thought about how it might impact the lamp's functionality or safety?
