Can I use this 12v timer to toggle polarity somehow..?

I have a "dh48s-s" timer that toggles a vacuum pump on/off. I need to toggle the polarity instead but have limited experience using circuits... is this possible?

Easiest way is to use a relay. Another much cheaper way is to use an H driver chip, but you need to know much more about the load voltage and current.
