Can a component value be stepped?

It is useful in a circuit when optimizing to be able to step the value of a component and plot the results to find the optimum. Does anyone see a way to do this without doing it laboriously by hand?

Ya circuit lab will do this. Say you want to find a single resistor that will minimize current at some node within a circuit, make the circuit and use the DC sweep so it will calculate current (or whatever) at a node as a function of the resistance value. Then it will automatically plot it. It can also be done with in a ‘time Domain’ or ‘Frequency Domain’ simulation be selecting ‘sweep parameter’, then choosing the component to sweep and the start stop and step values. However it will not let you ‘sweep’ through different transistors, but will let you sweep transistor parameters.
