Our team is happy to announce that CircuitLab is now available offline! Our belief at CircuitLab is that your electronics design tools should be available to you wherever, and whenever inspiration strikes. Whether you are at your desk at work, at home on your iPad, or on your laptop in a lecture hall, we believe you should always have access to your circuits in CircuitLab. With CircuitLab’s offline capabilities, you can now design, simulate, and save your circuits while you are disconnected to the internet. (Some features, such as exporting rendered schematics, are currently only available online.) Once your computer comes back online, we will sync all your circuits with your account on our server. Offline mode makes heavy use of advanced features in HTML5 to further blur the distinction between desktop and browser-based software, bringing you the best of both worlds.
To use CircuitLab offline, you must first install it via Google’s Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/circuitlab/haghanbgfkfpmepoohpigmglbfejljoj. If you are one of our 50,000 existing Web Store installed users, you don’t need to do anything at all -- the software will update automatically and allow offline use. Once installed, you can access CircuitLab directly from the apps tab in your Chrome browser.
In addition, if you install CircuitLab via the web store, the application will be cached locally on your browser, so the CircuitLab editor will load faster even if you do not intend to use it while offline. Offline use has been one of our top requested features, and we are proud to be able to bring this capability to our users, who together run more than 100,000 circuit simulations every week.
Our goal at CircuitLab is to build the best tool for you, and now you can be confident that it’s always available for you -- even if your network is not.
