This is my first time using the circuit lab, so I may have goofed this up.
I'm refresing some old audio equipment as I wait on an impedence matching transformer type speaker selector switch to be delivered. While I wait for the last part, I'm attempting to identify if I need to add an inline resistor to zero out the ohms for one channel or for the whole five channel switch. The switch is limited to 100w RMS, 200W per channel.
Due to existing speaker wire already being routed through multiple rooms, walls and ceilings, there are already three passive speakers set up in parallel on one channel, two passive speakers each in series on two other channels and two passive speakers in series on the fourth channel (left and right). The fifth channel won't be used, for now.
I've got almost everything ready while I wait for the switch in the mail. I just so happen to have eight inexpensive 100W 2.4 ohm resistors on hand which if temporarily used, obviously wouldn't be the final solution.
The two bookshelf speakers could be placed on a different existing amplifier temporarily to zero impedence with the resistors I have on hand, if needed.
