Output frequency is independent of armature RPM.
Variable speed applications, (wind, water).
Also non-standard power frequencies (20cps, 400cps, etc.).
Field core needs to be laminated and have low permeability. There will be a phase difference between excitation and output, so you can not take excitation from the Grid and feed the output to the Grid. The solution to feeding the Grid, is beyond the DIY, without electronics knowledge.
