LED cathode connected to +ve supply instead of GND.

Supply current 7mA average. Av/Peak LED current 3.2/20mA. Frequency 43kHz approx.

For comparison, with D1 K connected to GND:-

Supply current 10.7mA average. Av/Peak LED current 5.3/20mA. Frequency 34kHz approx.
