This type of air conditioner is just a humidifier. It adds water vapour and is suitable for adding moisture to dry air in a small space such as a car. In a large space such as a room it may be less effective.

I recommend using a humidity gauge to test the humidity. It should be 60%. If wetter, then water will condense on cold surfaces and you will get mould growth.
