Nah,

Got a big post as part of the Mystery Component thread and it just won't go ...

Any ideas what might cause a posting action to fail?

Fixed it.

I must have somehow put an illegal character into the post.

When I Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C copied the whole post out of the new post editing window, Ctrl-V pasted it into a simple text editor, Ctrl-A, CtrlC copied it all back out of the editor and then Ctrl-V pasted it back into a newly opened CL posting editor window in the thread I wanted to post on, it just worked.

Hmmmm.
