I want to design an analog circuit to help in the detection of both open and short circuits... any ideas anyone? |

You need to post more info about the application. Otherwise you'll get suggestions for everything from detecting s/c & o/c in kV AC supplies through Christmas light strings to femtoampere resistance bridges. What voltage? What current? What source and load impedances? What frequency signals? How fast a response time? What output do you want from it? Could be as simple as a couple of LEDs or it could be a page of dense circuitry. :) |
