Summary

2-Voice Hybrid Fuzz Circuit, Version 1, with 3-Band Tone..

Description

2-Voice hybrid diode + transistor fuzz circuit for guitar, with 3-band tone. Fuzz voices are from two arrays with different devices; one feedback diode array with dedicated op-amp and one shunt-type BJT transistor array (using transistors configured to work as diodes), with a separate dedicated op-amp. The "hybrid" designation indicates use of both shunt-type) and feedback-type arrays, along with different kinds of fuzz-generating devices in the two arrays. Controls Include: Input Gain, Master Drive, Gain-Stage 1 Gain, Gain-Stage 1 Level, Fuzz 1 enable switch, F1 symmetry switches, Fuzz 1 Depth, Gain-Stage 2 Gain, Fuzz 2 enable switch, Fuzz 2 symmetry switches, Fuzz 2 Depth, Gain-Stage 2 Level, Bass, MId, Treble, and Volume. Frequency range is from 40 Hz to 4 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7-string guitar or 4-string bass. Maximum gain = +25.5 dBV @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +48.6 dBV @ 250 Hz with most controls at 100%. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 60 mA of current. And while simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test it before committing to a soldered build.
