60-Watt RMS Solid-State Guitar-Amplifier with 3-Band Tone.
60-watt RMS solid-state guitar-amplifier circuit with 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. Controls Include: Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Stack Sum, Pre-Gain, Post-Gain, and Volume. No fuzz, distortion, or other effects. Range at or above -3 dBV corners is 25 Hz to 6.3 kHz with all controls at 50%, or 13 Hz to 40 kHz with all controls at 100%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum Gain = +22 dBV @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +50 dBV @ 400 Hz with all controls at 100%. [Do not use the circuit with all controls at 100% except as a brief worst-case scenario while breadboard testing.] 60-watts is sufficient for medium to large venues. [Caution! Wear ear protection or stand >20 feet away if using at high volume levels.] And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before committing to a soldered build. House in a grounded metal enclosure. Power-supply not shown. Requires two DC supplies; one regulated dual-polarity +-12V DC @ 50 to 250 mA for IC1, and one unregulated +-30V DC @ >= 2 A for IC2. Use an actual guitar-speaker rated >= 60W RMS @ 8-ohms. Example Speaker: Eminence Patriot series, model "Red White and Blues", 12", 120W, 8-ohm. Sound described as purely American vintage 60s & 70s Rock, with tight lows, smooth mids, and sparkling highs. Parts Express # 290-814. $127.99 https://www.parts-express.com
