Power-Output Section for RO Imperatore I Guitar Amplifier
Output Section for the Imperatore I guitar amplifier circuit. Controls include Master Volume only. Uses a high-fidelity dual op-amp IC to place an audio bandpass filter between the Preamp Section (not shown) and the Power-Amp IC. Minimum output power into an 8-ohm speaker is expected to be >= 20-watts. Frequency ranges and overall gains for the Preamp Section and Output Section are indicated in their diagrams. Note: This project was designed to sound like a tube-type practice-amp. Changing specified op-amps and/or power-amp IC will change the sound. Power-supplies are not shown, but a dedicated supply for this project is provided at this website. Also, alternative off-the-shelf supplies for the Preamp and Power-Out sections are noted in this diagram. Disclaimer: Experimental circuitry. Untested design. Build at own risk. And though simulator verified, thoroughly breadboard test before final soldering. Example Speaker: Celestion model "Ten 30" guitar speaker; 10", 30W, 8 ohm. Available at Parts Express. Part # 294-2472. 55 dollars US. Sound described as warm and well-balanced. https://www.parts-express.com .
