Booster with 2-Voiced Diode Fuzz and 2-Stage Distortion
RS-Timbre "2VDF Booster". Booster circuit with 2-voiced diode fuzz and 2-stage op-amp distortion. Fuzz voices are from standard diodes and LEDs in separate feedback arrays, and Distortion is from overdriving the op-amps having the diode arrays in their feedback loops. Controls Include: Input Level, Driver Gain, Bass, Center, Treble, Tone Gain, Intensity, Fuzz 1 enable switch, Fuzz 1 symmetry switches, Fuzz 1 level, Fuzz 2 enable switch, Fuzz 2 symmetry switches, Fuzz 2 level, Output Gain, and Volume. Both Fuzz effects are separately enabled/disabled, but have no separate level controls. The Distortion effects are set with their level controls, which simultaneously sets Fuzz levels when Fuzz is enabled. The Distortion + Fuzz signals are mixed with the Direct signal in the Output Stage. The circuit's frequency range is from 59 Hz to 20 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7-string electric guitar (not recommended for 8-string guitar or bass-guitar). Maximum gain with all controls at 50% is +26.8 dBV @ 1 kHz, or twice that with all controls at 100%. The circuit can be used for stomp-box or rackmount projects. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 60 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before soldering.
