Richter Original 5-Band Active Tone-Control for Guitar
Richter Original 5-band active tone-control circuit for electric guitar. Controls Include: Gain, Bass, Lo-Mid, Mid, Hi-Mid, Treble, and Volume. Frequency Range 20 Hz to 8 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum Gain = +9 dBV @ 630 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +20 dBV @ 1 kHz with Gain and Volume at 100% but all tone controls remaining at 50%. Maximum Gain setting also extends bandwidth from 10 Hz to 25 kHz. Specified IC was chosen to ensure clean op-amp operation at all controls settings. Do not overdrive the Input. Will accept active or passive signal sources. Power-supply not shown. Requires a dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 20 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before committing to a soldered build. House in a grounded metal enclosure to prevent EMF interference.
