Bass Boost Circuit with 5-Band Tone
Bass boost circuit with 5-band tone. Controls Include: Gain, Drive, Bass, Low-MId, Mid, High-Mid, Treble, and Volume. Note: Mid controls do not affect signal levels but shift the centers of specified frequency bands. Bass and Treble controls adjust signal levels. IC chosen for clean operation regardless of control settings. Frequency Range 10 Hz to 10 kHz with all controls at 50%, or greater bandwidth with controls > 50%. Suitable for 4/5/6-string bass (or 6/7/8-string guitar with emphasis on lows). Gains per Frequency with Gain, Drive, Volume, and All Tone Controls at 50%: +20.5 dBV @ 40 Hz, +19.4 dBV @ 100 Hz, +15 dBV @ 400 Hz, and +11.3 dBV @ 1 kHz. Maximum Gain = +41 dBV @ 63 Hz with All Tone Controls at 50% but Other Controls at 100%. The circuit can be used for stomp-box or rackmount projects. The batteries can be replaced by a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 20 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before soldering.
