2-Voice Hybrid Fuzz Circuit 3 with 3-Band Tone
2-Voice hybrid LED + MOSFET fuzz circuit for guitar, with 3-band tone. The fuzz voices are from two arrays using different devices; one feedback-type LED array with dedicated op-amp, and one shunt-type MOSFET array (using MOSFETs configured to work as diodes) with a separate dedicated op-amp. The "hybrid" designation indicates use of both shunt type and feedback type arrays, along with the two different kinds of clipping devices. Both fuzz voices are meant to sound modern, but with Fuzz 2 much brighter than Fuzz 1. Controls Include: Gain 1, Drive 1, Gain 2, Drive 2, Fuzz 1 enable switch, Fuzz 1 symmetry switches, Fuzz 1 Depth, Gain 3, Fuzz 2 enable switch, Fuzz 2 symmetry switches, Fuzz 2 Depth, Drive 3, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Volume. Frequency Range 40 Hz to 4 kHz. Suitable for 6/7-string guitar or 4-string bass. Maximum Gain = +28.7 dBV @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +61.6 dBV @ 630 Hz with all controls at 100%. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 100 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test it before committing to a soldered build.
