Richter Original experimental 3-tube preamp circuit with 2-voice shunt-diode fuzz. Altered version of the first RO Experimental 3-Tube Fuzz circuit. The main changes are; the triode + tetrode tube has been replaced by another dual triode tube, and the 2-band tone-control has been replaced by a 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. The 12U7 dual triode (not a 12AU7 substitute) was designed to provide the same specs as a 12AU7 dual triode except plate and heater voltages can both be at +12VDC (originally supplied by a car battery). Thus, the 12U7 should sound much like a 12AU7. The 12DZ6 pentode (substitutes are the 12AE6 and 12EK6), despite being a pentode, is reputed to sound like a 12AX7 triode. Consequently, this project should sound like an American-made boutique guitar-amplifier that uses two 12AU7s and one 12AX7 in its preamp section. For additional details, see the Description for the first RO Experimental 3-Tube Fuzz circuit.
