Description

Richter Original "12V-Pegleg Fuzz" circuit with bright and bass-boost switches, and 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. Based on the preamp section of the Ampeg V3 Amplifier. Controls Include: Input Level, Drive, Bright switch, Bass-Boost switch, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches, Fuzz Depth, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Volume. Uses one 12U7 dual triode (not 12AU7) which was designed for a single +12VDC supply-voltage on its plates AND the heaters (originally a car battery). Do not use any other tube (including 12AU7). The 12U7 was also designed to sound like a 12AU7 but using a +12VDC supply. It is available from The Tube Store. https://www.thetubestore.com . Overdriven tube distortion can be obtained by overdriving the input with a boost or overdrive stomp-box, while Q2 can be overdriven by Q1 depending on the setting of the Drive control. The symmetry switches in the Diode Array set the harmonic content of the fuzz effect. Untested design. No simulation. Frequency response and overall gain must be determined during breadboard testing.
