Richter Original Active 5-Band EQ for Electric Guitar
Richter Original active 5-band equalizer for 6-string electric guitar. Controls Include: Gain, 5 tone controls, and Volume. Frequency Band Center-Frequencies: Treble 10 kHz, High-Mid 4 kHz, Mid 1.6 kHz, Low-Mid 400 Hz, Bass 100 Hz. EQ Control Gain Ranges: Treble -13 to +5 dBV @ 10 khz and -5 to +11.2 dBV @ 6.3 kHz; High-Mid +5.2 to +16.4 dBV @ 4 kHz and +9 to +22.2 dBV @ 2.5 kHz; Mid +20.4 to +34 dBV @ 1 kHz and +24.8 to +33.4 dBV @ 630 Hz; Low-Mid +19.8 to +34.2 dBV @ 400 Hz and +17.5 to +27.1 dBV @ 250 Hz; Bass +3 to +15.1 dBV @ 100 Hz and -10.4 to +1.0 dBV @ 63 Hz. Overall Frequency Range 63 Hz to 10 kHz with all controls at 50%, or 20 Hz to 12 kHz with Gain and Volume at 100% but EQ pots at 50%, or 20 Hz to 26 kHz with all controls at 100%. Maximum Gain = +28.3 dBV @ 630 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +37.4 dBV @ 1 kHz with Gain and Vollume at 100% but EQ pots at 50%, or +52 dBV @ 1 kHz with all controls at 100%. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 80 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before committing to a soldered build. Do not substitute any other ICs except for those with the same or better noise figures (e.g., THD+N >= 0.00008%) and the same or higher input impedances (e.g., >= 10T ohms). But the OPA4134UA is readily available. Example: Texas Instruments OPA4134UA, DigiKey # OPA4134UA-ND. https://www.digikey.com . Example Power-Supply: Acopian DB12-10 Mini Encapsulated AC/DC Converter, 115VAC input, dual output; +12VDC @ 100 mA and -12VDC @ 100 mA. DigiKey # 5006-dB12-10-ND.
