Guitar preamp powered by a single 9-volt battery, with
2-voiced fuzz and 3-band Fender-style tone-stack.
Guitar preamp powered by single 9V battery, with highly adjustable fuzz using both standard silicon diodes and LEDs, plus a 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. Controls Include: Input Gain, Bass, MId, Treble, Tone Sum, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz Type switch (Normal or Bright), Fuzz symmetry switches (four, with 2 settings each; setting harmonic content of fuzz), Output Gain, and Volume. Frequency range is from 54 Hz to 27 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6-string electric guitar. Maximum Gain = +20 dBV @ 1.3 kHz with all controls at 50%. With fuzz off, circuit is a Clean Boost with 3-band tone. Intended for stomp-box projects, but the battery can be replaced by a regulated single-polarity DC supply providing +9VDC or +12VDC or +15VDC at >= 20 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test it before committing to a soldered build. And house in a grounded metal enclosure.
