Guitar preamp powered by a single 9-volt battery, with highly adjustable fuzz circuit and 3-band Fender-style tone-control.
Guitar preamp powered by single 9V battery, with highly adjustable fuzz using both germanium diodes and LEDs, and 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. Controls Include: Input Attenuation enable switch (Attenuate or Direct), Attenuation control, Gain control, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz Crunch control, Fuzz Type switch (Mellow Bright), Fuzz symmetry switches (four with 2 settings each), Fuzz Depth control, Fuzz Tone, Fuzz Level, Fuzz Clip control, Bass, Mid, Treble, Direct Level, and Volume. Frequency Range above 0dBV is from 32 Hz to 20 kHz. As is, this is a low-gain circuit. Maximum gain 9.3 dBV @ 200 Hz. Use primarily for tone-shaping and fuzz rather than signal boosting. For more overall gain, get gain of 12 dBV by decreasing value of Direct Level control to 250k, or for 12 dBV with treble boost use 100k. Do not go smaller than 100k. Do not change other components except during breadboard testing, if needed or desired to alter the response, should a different response-curve shape be preferred.
