Split-Supply Guitar Preamp w. 3-Band Tone and Boosted Fuzz.
Split-supply guitar preamp with 3-band Fender-style tone-stack, boosted feedback-type Schottky-diode fuzz, and auxiliary buffered output (in addition to normal output). Controls Include: Input Attenuation enable switch (Attenuate or Direct), Attenuation control, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz Drive, Fuzz Tone switch, Stack Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, Stack Sum, Gain, and Volume. Frequency Range 25 Hz to > 15 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar and 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum No-Fuzz Gain = +20.4 dBV @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%. Maximum Gain With Fuzz = +37 dBV @ 400 Hz with all controls at 50%. The circuit can be used for stomp-box or rackmount applications. The batteries can be replaced by a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 40 mA of current. [Note: Higher supply voltage results in lower op-amp noise.] And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test it before committing to a soldered build.
