High-gain guitar preamp with 3-band Fender-style tone-stack.
High-gain guitar preamp with 3-band Fender-style tone-stack. An overdrive circuit. Controls Include: Input Attenuation enable switch (Attenuate or Direct), Attenuation control, Drive control, Bass, Mid, Treble, Stack-Sum, Gain, and Volume. No fuzz. However, the Input Stage can be overdriven with sufficient input signal level, and the Output Stages can be overdriven by sufficient clockwise settings of the Drive and Stack Sum controls. Both will provide JFET distortion when overdriven. Maximum total gain with controls at 50% is 37.7 dBV (Vo/Vi = 76.7) @ 1 kHz, or 43 dBV (Vo/Vi = 141) with controls at 100%. Frequency Range: 25 Hz to > 20 kHz, with emphasis between 630 Hz to 2.5 kHz. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass.
