Clean Boost with 4-Way Tone Filtering and Schottky Fuzz
Clean boost circuit with four tone filters, shunt-type Schottky fuzz, and auxiliary buffered output. Controls Include: Input Gain, Drive 1, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches, Fuzz Depth, Bass, Mid-Bass, Midrange, Treble, Drive 2, High Trim, Output Gain, and Volume. The specified ICs were chosen to ensure extremely clean operation of the circuit regardless of control settings when Fuzz is disabled. Frequency Range at or above 0 dBV is from 20 Hz to 15 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Example Gains per Frequency with all controls at 50% are; +29.5 @ 100 Hz, +23.7 dBV @ 400 Hz, +23 dBV @ 1 kHz, +15 dBV @ 4 kHz, and +4.7 dBV @ 10 kHz. Filters are high-pass (HP) with low-corners at 22 Hz (Bass), 220 Hz (Mid-Bass), 480 Hz (Midrange), and 1 kHz (Treble). The HIgh Trim control will not boost the highs but only cuts highs (down to 6 kHz). Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 80 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before soldering.
