Summary

Richter Original "12V-DumbBunny Fuzz" With 2-Band Tone

Description

Richter Original "12V-DumbBunny Fuzz" circuit, with Bright switch and 2-band tone. Based on the preamp section of a Dumble guitar amplifier. Controls Include: Input Level, Drive, Bass, Treble, Bright switch, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches, Fuzz Depth, and master Volume. Uses one 12U7 dual triode (not 12AU7) which was designed to work using a single +12VDC supply-voltage on the plates AND the heaters. It was also designed to sound like a 12AU7 but using the +12VDC supply (originally a car battery). Do not use any other tube (including 12AU7). It is available at The Tube Store. https://www.thetubestore.com . Overdriven tube distortion can be obtained by overdriving the input with a boost or overdrive stomp-box, while Q2 can be overdriven by Q1 depending on the setting of the Drive control. The symmetry switches in the Diode Array set the harmonic content of the fuzz effect. Untested design. No simulation. Frequency response and overall gain must be determined during breadboard testing. Power-supply not shown. Example Ready-To-Go Pre-Assembled Supply: 12V DC 1000 mA Regulated Switching Power Adapter, Product ID: 798. $8.95 each. From AdaFruit website. https://www.adafruit.com
