Hex-Tone Circuit for Hex-Preamp or Hex-Amp System
Hex-Tone circuit for the Hex-Preamp or the Hex-Amp System. Accepts one string signal from the Hex-Preamp. One circuit shown. Six if needed, or optional if power-amps have built-in tone controls. These circuits are identical except for capacitors C1 = C2, and C3, in the Input Stage, which are customized for each string, where capacitor values corresponding to different low-cutoff frequencies are given in the diagram. Controls Include: Gain, Bass, Center (of Midrange band), Treble, High Trim, and Volume. Provides up to +35 dBV boost with all controls at 100%. The power-supply is not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-15 VDC @ >= 40 mA per circuit (180 mA for all six circuits). An additional (seventh) circuit can also be built for the full-mix signal (if needed), and which requires capacitor values corresponding to the 6th string. Experimental Circuitry! Fully breadboard test before committing to a soldered build. And see complete Hex-Amp system under "Amplifiers" at https://kurtusrichtersblog.com .
