Richter Original "Magnificence" High-Gain Fuzz for Guitar
Richter Original "Magnificence" high-gain fuzz circuit for guitar or bass. Controls Include: Input Level, Gain 1, Fuzz 1 enable switch, Fuzz 1 symmetry switches, Fuzz 1 Depth, Gain 2, Fuzz 2 enable switch, Fuzz 2 symmetry switches, Fuzz 2 Depth, Bass, Mid, Treble, Drive, Fuzz 3 enable switch, Fuzz 3 Depth, Center, and Volume. IC1 chosen to ensure clean operation at all control settings, except when Fuzz 1 or Fuzz 2 are enabled. IC2 chosen to provide tube-like distortion when overdriven. IC3 chosen to provide tube-like MOSFET fuzz. Tone-stack is 3-band Fender-style. Center control is a Framus midrange control. Frequency Range 28 Hz to 6.3 kHz with all controls at 50%, or 13 Hz to 70 kHz with all controls at 100%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 have minor effect on gain but Fuzz 3 cuts overall gain by 3 dBV. Total drop in overall gain with all Fuzz enabled is 3.6 dBV. Maximum Gain = +38.1 dBV @ 160 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +75 dBv between 100 and 250 Hz with all controls at 100%. Power-supply not shown. Requires regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 50 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Thoroughly breadboard test before committing to a soldered build. House in a grounded metal enclosure.
