3-Way Active Crossover for Guitar
3-way active crossover for 6-string electric guitar, with buffered direct out and boosted direct out. Controls Include: Input Gain, Drive, Driver Gain, Direct Out Level, High Level, Mid Level, and Low Level. The high / low crossover frequency is 1 kHz. Mid-band center = 1.6 kHz, with bandwidth from 275 Hz to 4 kHz. Maximum gain at any output = +12 dBV @ 1 kHz with all controls at 50%, and up to twice that with all controls at 100%. Circuit is intended to provide the guitarist with high, mid, and low outputs for separate amplifiers, plus a buffered direct output for another amplifier, PA system, or recording gear, along with a boosted direct out for another amplifier on stage. For a 2-band setup, the outputs can be combined in a stereo mixer, or mixing all five outputs allows enhanced control over the tonality of each signal. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 60 mA of current. Note: Higher supply voltage results in lower op-amp noise. And while simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before soldering.
