3-Voice Diode Fuzz with 3-Band Tone and Bass-Boost
Guitar preamp with bass boost, 3-voice diode fuzz, and 3-band tone. Controls Include: Drive 1, Boost enable switch, Fuzz 1 enable switch (for Boost Fuzz), Boost gain, Boost Fuzz symmetry switches (two, with 2 settings each), Boost Fuzz depth, Bass, Mid, Treble, Tone Gain, Drive 2, Fuzz 2 enable switch (for Hard Fuzz), Hard Fuzz symmetry switches (two, with 2 settings each), Hard Fuzz depth, Fuzz 3 enable switch (for Bright Fuzz), Bright Fuzz symmetry switches (two, with 2 settings each), Bright Fuzz depth, and Volume. Buffer, Boost, and Output stages based on separate designs by Craig Anderton, though highly modified. Tone controls are well-known active James-style circuit. Project concept and all modifications by Kurtus Richter. Frequency Range at or above 0 dBV is from 30 Hz to 30 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7-string guitar or 4-string bass. Maximum Gain = +21.4 dBV @ 2.5 kHz with all controls at 50% but no boost and no fuzz. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 40 mA of current. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before soldering.
