Summary

2-Voiced Soft-Clip Fuzz w. 2-Band Tone.

Description

2-Voiced soft-clipping fuzz circuit with 2-band Baxandall tone circuit including a mid-center control. The fuzz voices, A and B, correspond to standard diodes and Schottky diodes, respectively. Controls Include: Direct Drive, Gain, Fuzz Enable switch, Fuzz Voice switch (A or B), Fuzz symmetry switches (four, with 2 settings each), Tone Drive, Bass, Center, Treble, Buffer Level, and Volume. Maximum total circuit gain with all controls at 50% is ~ 20 dBV (Vo/Vi ~ 10), between 250 Hz and 630 Hz, or ~ 25 dBV (Vo/Vi ~ 17.8) with the Gain pot at 100% but all other controls at 50%. Usable Range: 25 Hz to 10 kHz. Circuit is thus suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass, with emphasis on mids. but where highs fall off rapidly above 10 kHz. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply giving on of the following: +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC, providing >= 4 mA per op-amp (or 20 mA total).
