Summary

Modified "Mod Box" Circuit. Includes Fuzz and 3-Band Tone.

Description

Modified "Mod Box" circuit. Includes Fuzz and 3-band tone. Based on the "Mod Box" circuit by T. Henry and J. Orman published in Electronics Now magazine, May 1997, page 46. Controls Include: Direct Send, Gain Drive, Gain Send, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches (two, with 2 settings each), Fuzz Depth, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Volume. For stomp-box or rack-mount applications. Range when all controls are at 50% is from 40 Hz to 4 kHz, with emphasis on the mids. Suitable for 6/7-string guitar (not recommended for 8-string guitar or bass-guitar). Maximum gain = +23.3 dBV (Vo/Vi = 14.6) @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +53.7 dBV (Vo/Vi = 484) @ 630 Hz with all controls at 100%. Maximum range with all controls at 100% is from 16 Hz to 16 kHz. Power-supply not shown. Requires regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 40 mA of current. And while based on a proven circuit, together with being simulator verified, treat it as experimental. Breadboard test before committing to a soldered build.
