Boosted 8-Band EQ for Guitar
Boosted 8-band equalizer for guitar, featuring resonant filters using op-amps, and a booster output stage. Controls Include: Drive, Filter Levels (eight), Gain, and Volume. Approximate Resonant Frequencies Are: 16 kHz, 8 kHz, 6.3 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 500 Hz, 250 Hz, 125 Hz, 63 Hz. Range at or above 0 dBV is from 25 Hz to 10 kHz with all controls at 50%. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar and 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum gain = +21 dBV (Vo/Vi = 11.2) @ 1 kHz with all controls at 50%, or +40 dBV (Vo/Vi = 100) @ 1 kHz with Drive, Gain, and Volume controls at 100%, but Filter Levels remaining at 50%, in which case bandwidth extends from 16 Hz to 100 kHz. Also, Filter Level controls adjust respective resonant frequencies by +-10 dBV each, centered at 0 dBV. Power-supply not shown. Requires regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 60 mA of current. And while simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental in nature. Thoroughly breadboard test before committing to a soldered build.
