RO-Series Preamp 3: Boost with Fuzz and Tone
Richter Original Series: Preamp 3, Booster with Fuzz and 3-Band Tone. Controls Include: Drive, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches, Fuzz Depth, Bass, Mid, Treble, Stack Sum, Gain, and Volume. Range at or above 0 dBV with all controls at 50% is from 15 Hz to 8.8 kHz. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Bandwidth with all controls at 100% is from 10 Hz to 100 kHz. Maximum gain = +20 dBV (Vo/Vi = 10) @ 1 kHz with all controls at 50%, or +48.6 dBV (Vo/Vi = 269) with all controls at 100%. This qualifies the circuit to be used as a high-gain boost or a mid-gain overdrive, with controls set > 50%. Note: Fuzz Depth control has little/no effect on gain. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 20 mA of current. And while simulator verified, view the circuit as experimental. Breadboard test before committing to a soldered build.
