Configuration to run a common domestic dryer from the 208v supply commonly found in commercial and apartment buildings using an autotransformer. Overcurrent protection and disconnect not shown.
V1 and V2 represent two legs of a three phase 120/208Y service. XFMR1 is a 208:32v transformer, which is wired as a 208:240v boost autotransformer. Component values assume a 6kw heater; 1/3hp 80% efficient, 0.7pf motor; 40w lamp; and 60ma timer current draw. Dryer schematic is simplified to illustrate autotransformer wiring more clearly, and does not include switches, motor start circuit, or overtemperature protection. Transformer disconnect and overcurrent protection not shown.
