2-Voiced Hard-Clipping Bass Fuzz with 5-band Tone-Control.
2-voiced hard-clipping fuzz circuit for bass-guitar, with custom-designed 5-band tone. Controls Include: Input Gain, Normal Fuzz enable switch, Deep Fuzz enable switch, Treble Corner switch (2 positions), Treble, High Mid, Mid, Low MId, Bass Corner switch (2 positions), Bass, Output Gain, and Volume. Suitable for stomp-box or rack-mount applications. Two diode arrays give separate fuzz sounds. The Deep array uses Schottky diodes. The Normal array uses standard silicon diodes. Total circuit gains per frequency with all pots at middle positions, and using a 1 V p-p 1 kHz input signal, are; 0dBV @ 4Hz, +22.6dBV @ 10Hz, +36.8dBV @ 25Hz, +40dBV @ 40Hz, +40.8dBV @ 63Hz, +40dBV @ 100Hz, +35.8dBV @ 250Hz, +29dBV @ 630Hz, +24.5dBV @ 1kHz, +12.3dBV from 2.5kHz, +3.8dBV @ 4kHz, -6.6dBV @ 6.3kHz, and -20dBV @ 10kHz. Thus, emphasis is on the low-end, making this circuit good for bass-guitar, or as a subwoofer overdrive for 6/7/8-string guitar. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC, at >= 10 mA of available current total.
