4-Voiced Soft-Clipping Fuzz Circuit with 3-Band Tone-Control
4-voiced soft-clipping fuzz circuit with 3-band tone-control. Controls Include: Drive, Fuzz Gain, Fuzz enable switches (F1, F2, F3, and F4, enabled/disabled separately), Fuzz symmetry switches (eight, with 2 settings each), Fuzz Level, Direct Gain, Direct Level, Bass, Mid, Treble, Output Gain, and Volume. The fuzz voices are as follows. Fuzz 1 from germanium diodes (mellow), Fuzz 2 from Schottky diodes (deep), Fuzz 3 from standard silicon diodes (normal), and Fuzz 4 from red LEDs (bright). Range: 20 Hz - 20 kHz. Circuit suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass-guitar. Maximum total gain = 30 dBV (Vo/Vi = 31.6) @ 2.5 kHz with all pots at 50%, or 35 dBV (Vo/Vi = 56.2) with Output Gain pot at 100% but all others at 50%. With all diode arrays disabled, circuit will function as high-gain booster with 3-band tone-control. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity supply providing one of the following: +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC, at >= 4 mA per op-amp (e.g., 20 mA total).
