2-Voiced Hard-Clipping Fuzz Circuit with 2-Band Tone-Control
2-voiced hard-clipping fuzz circuit with 2-band Baxandall tone-control. Controls Include: Input Level, Direct Gain, Direct Level, Fuzz enable switches (two; Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2), Fuzz Gain, Fuzz symmetry switches (four, with 2 settings each), Fuzz Level, Fuzz Depth, Bass, Treble, Output Gain, and Volume. With Fuzz disabled, the Fuzz Drive acts as an extra gain-stage parallel to the Direct Driver. The range above 0 dBV is from 21 Hz to 20 kHz. Circuit is suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass-guitar, with slight emphasis on lows. Maximum gain = 22 dBV (Vo/Vi = 12.6) from 100 Hz to 1 kHz with all controls at 50%, or 31 dBV (Vo/Vi = 35.5) with all three Gain pots at 100% but all other pots at 50%. Voices of Fuzz is from two type of diodes. Fuzz 1 is from standard silicon diodes. Fuzz 2 is from Schottky diodes. The symmetry switches (SSW) in the diode arrays set the harmonic content of the fuzz. Power-supply not shown. Requires regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing one of the following: +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC, at >= 4 mA per op-amp (e.g., 20 mA total).
