Overdrive Circuit with 4-Voiced Distortion
Overdrive circuit with 4-voiced distortion. Two distortion voices are actually fuzz voices from diodes, and two are from op-amps delivering overdriven MOSFET distortion. Controls Include: Input Attenuation, Input Gain, Fuzz 1 enable switch, Fuzz 2 enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches (four, with 2 settings each), Fuzz 1 Depth, Fuzz 2 Depth, High Trim, Low Trim, Bass, Mid, Treble, OD 1, OD 2, Output Gain, and Volume. Range above 0 dBV is from 12 Hz to 25 kHz, with emphasis between 40 Hz and 2.5 kHz. Thus, the circuit is suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass, in standard tuning. Caution! High-gain circuit. Maximum gain = 37.5 dBV (Vo/Vi = 75) @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or 43 dBV (Vo/Vi = 141) with the two Gain pots and two OD pots at 100%, but all other controls at 50%. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 60 mA of current.
