Summary

Guitar Overdrive with 3-Band Tone and Diode Fuzz

Description

High-gain guitar overdrive circuit with 3-band tone and diode fuzz. Controls Include: Input Level, Input Gain, Bass, Mids, Treble, Drive, Fuzz enable switch, Fuzz symmetry switches (two, with 2 settings each), Fuzz Depth, Output Gain, and Volume. Range at or above 0 dBV is from 23 Hz to 7.4 kHz, with emphasis on mid-bass and low-mid frequencies, and where 20 kHz is down by -16.7 dBV. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar and 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum gain = +30.4 (Vo/Vi = 33) @ 250 Hz with all controls at 50%, or +88.8 dBV (Vo/Vi = 27,542) @ 400 Hz with all controls at 100%, and at which bandwidth expands from 10 Hz to 63 kHz. Power-supply not shown. Requires a regulated dual-polarity DC supply providing +-9VDC or +-12VDC or +-15VDC at >= 50 mA of current. And while simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental in nature. Thoroughly breadboard test before committing to a soldered build.
