Highly-Modified Dunlop JH-2 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Circuit
Highly-modified Dunlop JH-2 "Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face" circuit. Controls Include: Drive, Fuzz, Output Gain, and Volume. No tone controls. Frequency range between low and high -3 dBV corners is from 34.2 Hz to > 20 kHz with all controls at 50%. Range between low and high 0 dBV points is from 37.7 Hz to 40 kHz. The standard 20 kHz audio limit is up by +6.6 dBV. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. High gain. Maximum gain = +27 dBV @ 630 Hz with all controls at 50%, or 70 dBV @ 10 kHz with all controls at 100%, where bandwidth also extends from 20 Hz to 630 kHz. Thus, a tone-control circuit should be used before or after this circuit, or both. The circuit is good for stomp-box applications, but the battery can be replaced by a regulated single-polarity +9VDC supply providing >= 40 mA of current. And while simulator verified, treat as experimental. That is, thoroughly breadboard test the circuit before committing it to a soldered build. And, as usual, house it in a grounded metal enclosure.
