High-Gain MOSFET Fuzz Circuit with 3-Band Tone
High-gain MOSFET fuzz circuit with 3-band tone. Two dual series-connected N-channel enhancement-mode MOSFET ICs are overdriven to generate tube-like fuzz. Controls Include: Input Gain, Clean Level, MOSFET Pair 1 Gain, MOSFET Pair 2 Gain, Fuzz Level, Clean + Fuzz Sum Level, Bass, Mid, Treble, Output Gain, and Volume. Range between high and low -3 dBV corners, with all controls at 50%, is from 17.6 Hz to 7.7 kHz. Range at or above 0 dBV, with all controls at 50%, is from 20 Hz to 6.3 kHz. Suitable for 6/7/8-string guitar or 4/5/6-string bass. Maximum gain = +23 dBV @ 325 Hz with all controls at 50%, or + 67.2 dBV @ 1 kHz with all controls at 100%, at which range extends from 8 Hz to 100 kHz. Do not use circuit with all controls at 100% except as a brief worst-case scenario while breadboard testing. The circuit can be a stomp-box or rackmount project. The battery can be replaced by a regulated single-polarity +9VDC power-supply. And though simulator verified, treat the circuit as experimental in nature. Thoroughly breadboard test it before committing to a soldered build.
