MOSFET Parameters

Hello All,

I'm a little confused about the parameter Kp (transconductance coefficient). For example the IRF9530 shows that this parameter is 5 A/V^2 but this value is usually given in books and in other places to be a lot smaller than this. Some of the ones I have seen are .25 mA/V^2. Is this the same value used in the equation for the drain current in saturation Id=Kp(Vgs-Vth)^2 ?

Thanks.

Have a look at

Chapter : 11. The SPICE MOSFET Models Section: 11.1. DC Model in:
