Summary

Guitar preamp for recording.

Description

Guitar preamp for recording. Features: Input Level control, Input Tone Enable switch, Input Tone Range switch, with three settings, Input Tone control, Treble Compensation Enable switch, Treble Compensation Range switch, with three settings, Treble Compensation Adjustment pot, Drive 1, Fuzz Enable switch, Fuzz Gain control, Fuzz Symmetry switches, with four settings, Drive 2, Boost Switch, Boost Drive control, Boost Level control, Drive 3, Bass, Mid, and Treble controls, Tone Sum control, and Volume control. There are two outputs; one unbuffered, for sending a signal to a guitar amplifier and whose level is set by the Tone Sum control, and one buffered, for sending a signal to recording gear, and whose level is set by the Volume control. This is a rack-mount project (not for stomp-box applications). Requires a regulated dual-polarity power-supply with voltages at +-9V DC or +-12V DC or +-15V DC, and available current from 100 to 200 mA. And while verified as valid by CircuitLAB simulator, the design should be considered experimental. That is, breadboard test before committing to soldered build. And house completed project in a grounded metal enclosure to prevent EMF inerference.
